Only a week after the awesome local Children’s Book festival, Rethimnon welcomes another event on children’s literature:
The Child and the Book Conference, also known as CBC.
It started as a postgraduate-run conference at Roehampton University, UK in 2004, and has since successfully brought together disciplines from across academic fields related to children’s and young adults literature and culture.
It is an annual conference held mainly in Europe, an opportunity for international graduate students from the children’s literature community to present and discuss their work with well established scholars from the field.
This year’s theme is Diaspora(s), Exile, Nomads, and Children’s Literature.
A very interesting illustration exhibition by awarded greek children’s book illustrators is being held at the venue.
